Loss of beloved bowling alley sparks fond memories for Troy residents

LANSINGBURGH - Alpha Lanes on Fifth Avenue was a landmark in the community. To many people, it was much more than just a bowling alley.

A lot of family memories have been made there. The bowling alley has been there since the 1920s and owned by the same family since the 1960s.

They just had their end of league dinner – and were about to start their summer league.

People came from all around to see the fire. Some people said they were losing a part of their history.

Some couldn't talk about the bowling alley without tears.
