Altamont Fairgrounds Juneteenth celebration cancelled over permit issues

The third-party Juneteenth celebration event at the Altamont Fairgrounds has been cancelled, according to Fair officials.

The event, hosted by A Little Booking Agency, was set to happen June 19 and June 20.

In a statement, the Fair board of directors say the event was cancelled due to “permit requirements not being completed or issued to operate a two-day event with health and safety precautions.”

This event would have been one of the fairground’s first gatherings since the COVID pandemic began.

The Altamont Fair is still scheduled to happen August 17-22.
