Annual Cardboard Boat Race goes swimmingly

August 11, 2019 01:37 PM

Imagine being challenged to make a boat out of cardboard... now, imagine if you also had to ride it.

That's exactly what happened Saturday at the Annual Cardboard Boat Race at Fort Hardy Park.

"Something that I absolutely love is looking at a boat and saying there's no way that's going to make it. Next thing I know, they've rounded the buoy and made it back to the finish line" said Kate Morse, the Director of Hudson Crossing Park.

The event encourages creativity and teamwork. Awards were given out for speed, most enthusiasm, people's choice and most sailors left afloat.
