Arrest made in Central Avenue shooting

ALBANY -- An Albany man has been charged in connection with a shooting that happened this morning outside of Club Phoenix. 

Albany Police arrested 25-year old Shaquille Owens.

Police say at approximately 12:35 a.m, Owens fired several rounds from a handgun at a male. The 42-year-old victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. 

He is currently being treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital and is listed in critical condition. 

A 21-year-old female and a 23-year-old male were nearby during the time of the shooting and were also struck. The female sustained a single gunshot wound to the leg. The male sustained a gunshot wound to the torso. Both were treated at Albany Medical Center Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and subsequently released. 

Owens was arraigned this morning in the Albany City Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
