Police say they've caught the man who killed 11-year-old Ayshawn Davis in Troy.
Jahquay Brown, 20, of Cohoes is charged with second-degree murder.
He was arrested at his home around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, and arraigned at Troy City Court Thursday afternoon.
In addition to Brown being behind bars, police say they have a weapon and a vehicle in their custody that may have been used in this shooting.
Authorities say this arrest is the product of good old-fashioned police work and cooperation from the community.
Brown has entered a not guilty plea. He's now behind bars with no bail and is due back in court on Tuesday.
Police say Ayshawn was standing with a group on Old Sixth Avenue on a Sunday evening earlier this month, and was hit by a bullet from a car.
Ayshawn was a fixture at Jimmy's Pizza in Troy, where the owner says the bright, young boy loved greeting customers, cleaning counters, and helping out.

Troy Mayor Patrick Madden released the following statement:
"We're relieved to learn of the arrest of a suspect in the shooting death of 11-year-old Ayshawn Davis. From the moment this investigation began, the Troy Police Department has worked continuously to track down those involved with this shocking crime.
I extend my sincerest thanks to the entire Troy Police Department—from detectives, patrol, evidence technicians, and command staff—and local, state, and federal law enforcement partners, specifically the New York State Police Special Investigations Unit, for their assistance on this case. Considerable resources & support were brought to this investigation that were critical in today's arrest.
To Ayshawn's parents, brothers, sisters, and extended family: I know that this does not repair the hole that has been torn in your lives. But I do hope that you take some measure of comfort in this development as we work to bring those responsible for Ayshawn's death to earthly justice."
