Two men are facing charges, accused of stealing a 10,000-pound excavator and trailer.
Jeremiah Simpson, 39, and Thomas Puff, 47, both of Copake, are charged with two counts of criminal possession of stolen property.
The machine and its trailer were taken from Bill's Trucking on Route 145 in Middleburgh. The equipment is worth an estimated $36,000.
Police say Simpson and Puff were hiding it on a rural property in Copake.
