Attempted murder charges filed against Schenectady shooting suspect

Schenectady police have now formally filed charges in the shooting of three people, including two children, in the city of Schenectady last week. Police say Deshawn Howard is now facing three counts of attempted murder.

He was arraigned at Albany Medical Center, where he is recovering from what police believe is a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Howard is accused of shooting a 14-year-old girl, a 7-year-old boy and an adult woman last Tuesday.

Police say the woman had an order of protection against Howard.
