"Baseball Bat Bandit" pleads guilty

The man known as the "Baseball Bat Bandit" has pled guilty.

Darren French of Troy pleaded guilty to three counts of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.

Back in July, we showed you surveillance video from the Congress Street Market, where French fought with a store clerk - who was also armed with a bat.

This was one of five hold-ups at convenience stores in the city in two days.

French is in the Rensselaer County Jail, awaiting sentencing on September 25.
