SARATOGA SPRINGS -- -Extra steps were taken to make sure everyone stayed safe during the New York City Ballet's performance Saturday night at SPAC. The matinee show had to be called off because it was so hot outside.
SPAC set up cooling stations and misting tents around the campus for the evening's ballet gala and performance. Many of the guests we spoke with say they wouldn't miss the annual event or the closing night of the renown ballet, despite the heat.
NewsChannel13 also spoke with some the New York City Ballet dancers. They were relieved SPAC canceled the afternoon performance.
SPAC President Elizabeth Sobel says although they were saddened to cancel the 2 p.m. show, it was the right decision for the welfare of the dancers and the guests.
