Man recovering after bear attack in Warren County

HAGUE - A man is recovering after a bear apparently attacked him in the town of Hague in Warren County.

NewsChannel 13's media partners at The Post-Star report the man says a black bear attacked him in the woods off Overbrook Road.

The Post-Star says the man was riding a four-wheeler when he saw a bear. He says he turned around to go back toward it and that's when he says the bear charged and attacked him. He was knocked to the ground and crawled home.

The Post-Star reports he ended up getting 16 stitches and numerous staples.   

The Department of Environmental Conservation is now looking into what exactly happened.
