Bear spotted and caught by Rotterdam Police

Rotterdam Police caught a nearly 2 hundred pound bear that was spotted walking through Fern Avenue and Tulip Street Saturday. 

Police say they received several reports of the bear before tracking the animal down in a tree in a backyard home.

The bear was tranquilized and safely removed. She's believed to be more than 20 years old and is being monitored by members of the Environmental Conservation Wildlife.
