Berkshire County parents of woman killed in Ethiopian plane crash sue Boeing, FAA

April 04, 2019 07:10 PM

Michael and Nadia Stumo from Sheffield, Massachusetts are suing Boeing and the Federal Aviation Administration.

Their daughter, Samya Stumo was among 157 people killed when an Ethiopian Airlines flight crashed shortly after takeoff last month.

Her family says the maker of the 737 Max 8 is responsible because of the failure of the automated maneuvering system, known as MCAS.

They also say the FAA did not do enough independent testing to ensure the plane's safety.
