Some bison that escaped a farm in Sharon Springs last month have been safely recovered.

As NewsChannel 13 has been reporting, the bison got loose after one of the bulls busted down a gate. Some of the escaped bison were later found damaging a farm in Otsego County.

Brian Grubb, owner of the Bison Island Farm in Sharon Springs, says 12 bison were tranquilized and safely recovered early Thursday morning.

They have evidence that seven bison splintered from the herd and are south of their ranch.

Efforts continue to round up the rest of the herd.
