NORTH BLENHEIM- City officials have announced the dedication and reopening of the historic Blenheim Bridge on Saturday.

It is located at the juncture of State Route 30 and East Side Road. The bridge was ravaged by flooding from Hurricane Irene in 2011.

The Blenheim Bridge, also known as the “Queen of Covered Bridges,” was built in 1855. It is the longest single-span covered wooden bridge in the world and is listed as a National Historic Landmark.

The dedication will start at 11 a.m. and various events will last until 4 p.m.
