LAKE GEORGE - There are some big changes to the start of the boating season. Marinas are closed and the Lake George Parks Commission is delaying the start of mandatory launch inspections until June 1.

As social distancing guidelines and self-quarantines have become the norm, what would normally be the kick-off to boating season is off to a slow start. Marinas are closed as part of the mandatory shut down of non-essential businesses. It's a blow to both businesses and boaters.

Also in response to concerns about the spread of the virus, the Lake George Park Commission is delaying its mandatory inspection start date until June 1.

The inspections ensure boats traveling from lake to lake and launching from trailers are free of invasive species.
