Identity of body found on bus outside Schenectady motel remains mystery

September 25, 2019 07:35 PM

Schenectady police were still trying late Wednesday afternoon to identify a body found on a bus earlier in the day. They say she appeared to be in her 30s.

The bus where she was found was parked at the Imperial Inn on State Street.

A bus driver found the woman's body when he went to do a check of the seats before leaving the motel.

Schenectady police say the bus travels to New York City at least once a day.

The bus driver only speaks Mandarin and called his manager to have them report his find to police.

Police aren't saying if the death is suspicious. An autopsy is now being conducted.

Police say it's not clear how or when the woman got on the bus.

Police say the bus belongs to Fox Bus, Inc., which has an Albany address listed when you search for it online. However, this bus had Massachusetts plates on it.
