Boil water advisory issued for Mechanicville, surrounding areas

MECHANICVILLE -- The city is now telling residents to boil their water before drinking it.

A water sample taken Thursday morning showed elevated turbidity. That means there's an increased chance the water may contain disease-causing organisms.

The city is working with state health to determine the cause.

The boil water advisory affects customers in Mechanicville, Stillwater districts 3 and 4, the Hemstreet Park neighborhood in Schaghticoke and the Pruyn Hill area in Halfmoon.
