The order is in effect for people in Troy who live East of Burdett Avenue, as well as the entire towns of Brunswick, North Greenbush and Poestenkill. Everyone in the affected area is required to boil water before it can be used for drinking or cooking.

A water station is available at the Brunswick Walmart on Hoosick Street.  You'll need to bring your own water container.

Meanwhile, students in two schools in Troy had an early dismissal on Thursday because of that water main break.

Troy High School students were sent home at 10 a.m. and La Salle Institute in Troy dismissed at 11:30 because of the ongoing water issues.

The mandatory boil water orders remain in effect.

The city will send NewsChannel 13 an alert when it's lifted.
