6-year-old boy hit by car in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY - A 6-year-old boy is in critical condition after being hit by a vehicle in Schenectady.

Police say the boy was hit at Ashmore Avenue and Central Parkway shortly after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.


He was first taken to Ellis Hospital, and was being transferred to Albany Med on Tuesday evening.

The crash is under investigation. Police say the driver is cooperating.
