COLONIE - Hundreds of people came out in a chilly rain to see "American Idol" finalist Madison VanDenburg perform.

Because of the events, the town of Colonie closed the town park - and also closed the Rudy Ciccotti Fitness Center at The Crossings.

However, the cost of the closures is being covered.

"The town is taking care of everything here – and the school district," said Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan. "We've got sponsors that have been very generous and helpful and people donating their time and our staff, our employees volunteering to do different things – so we're in good shape."

Stewart's also celebrated by renaming their Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough ice cream "Madison Dough-Re-Mi."

Hear from some very excited fans – including some people that drove all the way here from New Jersey, by watching the video of Emily DeVito's story.
