A 15-year-old from Albany is in Saint Louis and ready to compete for a US championship in chess.

Martha Samadashvili has been playing chess since she was seven, when her grandmother taught her how to play.

For the next ten days, she'll be competing for a 10,000 dollar purse in the US Girls' Junior Championship.  She’s already won the Pan American Champion in U10 girls, and the North American Champion in U10 and U12 girls.

She’s currently the New York State Girls Champion - a title she's won two years in a row.
