Capital Region parades honor fallen heroes on Memorial Day

Monday is Memorial Day. Road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect in Albany for the annual parade. 

The parade was kicking off at Central Avenue and Quail Street at 9:30 a.m. - then goes east on Washington Avenue to Hawk Street.

Parking is restricted from 7 a.m. to noon on Washington Avenue between South Swan and North Hawk Streets Central Avenue between Manning Boulevard and Washington Avenue will be closed. Also, Washington between Central Avenue and Eagle Street will be shut down from the hours of 8 a.m. to noon.

Other parades taking place in the Capital Region include the Sand Lake parade at 10 a.m., the North Greenbush Memorial Day Parade at 1:30pm and Lansingburgh’s Memorial Day parade at 11 a.m.
