Western New York moves to phase four of the state’s reopening plan Tuesday.

The Capital Region is on track to enter phase four on Wednesday.

When the Capital Region enters phase four, it will not include the reopening of malls or gyms. Governor Cuomo said more work needs to be done to make them safer.

“Any malls that will open in New York, large malls, we will make it mandatory that they have air filtration systems that can filter out the COVID virus,” Cuomo said.

New York City is set to move to phase three of reopening next Monday, but that may be without indoor dining.

The governor said because of the spike in coronavirus cases in other states, he may make changes to phase three for New York City.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy announced indoor dining would not start again in his state. It was set to begin on July 2.
