The CDC and the U.S. State Department are advising against traveling to neighboring Canada once again.

This is because of the omicron variant and the rising number of cases.

The CDC elevated travel recommendations to Canada to quote: "Level 4: Very High".

This month, Canada broke its one-day record for the highest number of people hospitalized with COVID-19.

In November, the U.S. lifted restrictions at its land borders with Canada and Mexico for fully vaccinated foreign nationals, ending historic curbs on non-essential travelers put in place in March 2020.
