These are just some of the people who got to know Thomas Flood. Those who never did...

"I'd say you missed out on a tremendous experience from a guy who had extraordinary passion for life extraordinary passion for what he did," Peter Warren said.

As an English teacher at Niskayuna High School, Mr. Flood connected to every single student.

"He was loved by the athletes, he was loved by the artists, he was loved by the kids who struggled, he was loved by really, everyone," Treanor said.

As a sports coach, his son's Sam and Lucas tell me he always picked the best kids, meaning not necessarily great players but good people.

And anyone who had the good fortune of making tom laugh, will remember this:

"He's the only person Iknew that laughed hard but made no noise," Treanor said.

Social Studies teacher and friend Peter Warren sang "Willin" by Little Feat.

He said he would always get a kick out of getting Tom saying this:

"He had these faces and he would go like, "whoa" and you knew scored something that would make your day."

"The Dude" as Tom was affectionately called, after the character in the Big Lebowski movie, didn't sweat the small stuff.

To say he'll be missed, doesn't say enough.

"He lit a lot of candles, he did a lot of inspiring work he started a lot of people down certain paths," Warren added.

Thomas Flood deeply cared for everyone who crossed his path and by the looks of it, the feeling was mutual.

The family thanks everyone for sharing their stories on social media. They are working with the high school to set up a scholarship in Thomas Flood's name.
