ALBANY -- As children make their way back to school, Capital Region businesses are coming together to make their experience more enjoyable.

Bricks Barber Shop, Will's Barber Shop, and ROCKS Bar are teaming up to provide free backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, food, and beds for children in the area.

New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) collected the backpacks and school supplies in partnership with WAMC Northeast Public Radio. The books were purchased as part of NYSUT's partnership with First Book Inc., which is dedicated to providing books and educational resources to children in need.

The event hopes to teach acceptance and love.
