COLONIE - A Cobleskill family that lost everything in a fire a week before Christmas last year got a new car on Thursday. It's thanks to Progressive's Keys to Progress program.

Christy Wade is a single mother to seven kids.

Since the fire, Wade and the kids spent five months in a safe house before moving into a new apartment she got through the VA.

A stay-at-home mom for the last eight years, Wade is now going to college to learn occupational therapy.

Keys to Progress is in its seventh year helping veterans in need.

Wade joined the Navy in 2001 and went to boot camp the day before 9/11.

The car was presented at Goldstein Collision Center, which also refurbished it.

Hear Wade talk more about how this new car will help her family, by watching the video of Jacquie Slater's story.
