Clifton Park man accused of ax attack on wife

A Clifton Park man is facing charges after police say he attacked his wife with an ax.

The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office says they got a call from 73-year-old Densie Barber at 12:30 a.m. Monday. They say she told them her husband attacked her.

Deputies and EMS personnel rushed to her home at 36 Spruce Lane where they found her serious injuries to her head, face, and hand.

William Barber, 83, is accused of assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned and released on his own recognizance.

The victim was taken to Albany Medical Center where she was treated and later released
