Jury: Negligence was not substantial factor in death of bullied teen

A jury has found the South Glens Falls School District guilty of negligence in handling bullying involving Jacob Taras -- and not guilty on negligence being a substantial factor in Taras' pain and suffering or in his death.

It's still unclear what the punitive damages will be -- if any.

The parents of Jacobe had asked the school district for $9 million. They filed the lawsuit after he took his own life.

He left a note behind saying he could not take being bullied at school any longer.

The parents were suing the district for never notifying them their son was being bullied.
