'Coffee With a Cop' connects Schenectady police with community

SCHENECTADY - Cops in Schenectady held another "Coffee with a Cop" event on Friday.

They gathered at The Happy Cappuccino on Jay Street between City Hall and Proctors.

The department holds these informal meet and greets several times a year to create dialogue about everything - from trouble spots around the city to quality of life issues.

"National Coffee with a Cop Day" began four years ago, but the idea has been around since 2011 when a department in California started it.

Hear from a police sergeant about what he enjoys about the event by watching the video of the story.
