Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse entered a guilty plea Tuesday afternoon in federal court. The mayor appeared before Judge Thomas McAvoy in Binghamton to plead guilty to one count of wire fraud in a scheme to defraud.

The mayor did not resign from office.

Morse's former campaign manager, Ralph Signoracci, pleaded guilty in February to conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Signoracci admitted he and Morse collected campaign funds that Morse used for personal expenses.

Morse lost the Democratic primary in June to former New York State Police Troop G Commander Bill Keeler.
