Cohoes Mayor Morse expected to plead guilty

Cohoes Mayor Shawn Morse may be about to enter a guilty plea to federal charges he's facing. Morse is scheduled for a change of plea hearing Tuesday in Binghamton before Judge Thomas McAvoy.

He pleaded not guilty in February to a seven-count indictment that included wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Sources told NewsChannel 13 in February the charges involve the misuse of campaign money for personal use.

Morse's recent re-election bid failed. He lost the Democratic primary in June to former New York State Police Troop G Commander Bill Keeler.
