Colonie accident causes temporary power outages

COLONIE - At last check, no charges have been filed against the driver who slammed into a pole in Colonie just after midnight Monday morning.

It happened at Central Avenue near Van Buren Avenue. The power was knocked out for about 1,200 people. It was back on by 3 a.m.

The driver was taken to Albany Medical Center.

Police are still trying to figure out why the driver went off the road and crashed.
