The American Heart Association has given Colonie EMS the mission lifeline EMS gold achievement award.
The award is given because of the rapid and research based care they give to people who suffer strokes and heart attacks.
According to the heart association, Colonie EMS got the award because of the collaboration and contributions of both pre-hospital and hospital providers.
