Colonie man accused of attacking neighbor with machete

A dispute between two men in Colonie ended with one of them getting a finger hacked off by a machete.

Police say 55-year-old Mcgregor Octave attacked 53-year-old Todd Desboro during an argument over the mail. It happened Monday at the Central Crossings Trailer Park. They say Octave struck Desboro with a machete, partially cutting off his left pinky finger.

Desboro was taken to Albany Medical Center.

Octave was sent to Albany County Jail. He's facing assault and weapons charges.

Police searched Octave's trailer, but weren't able to find the machete.
