Columbia High: East Greenbush Police say no credible threat

After investigating a potentially threatening social media post, East Greenbush police say there is no credible threat to Columbia High School. The school will be open today. East Greenbush police say there will be extra police at the high school today as a precaution. News Channel 13 plans to speak with East Greenbush Police Chief Christopher Lavin Monday morning.
Below is Columbia High School's statement:
East Greenbush Central School District received a report over the weekend about a social media post of a threatening nature towards Columbia High School. The district has also received several inquiries from parents regarding this matter. The district immediately started an investigation in coordination with the East Greenbush Police Department.
The issue remains under investigation by police, but based on the information collected and in consultation with law enforcement, Columbia will be open tomorrow.
As a precaution, the district is implementing additional security measures at Columbia tomorrow and has requested added police officers at school.
The district is committed to providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all students and staff.
