BALLSTON SPA - Residents at the White Pines South community in Ballston Spa have been under a boil water order since before Labor Day. This was after the water tested positive for two different types of bacteria.

Many of the people living in the community say they are very worried for their health and well being, especially given the amount of time this has been going on.

The NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) issued the order for the White Pines South community on August 23, 2019. This, comes after samples tested positive for E. coli and coliform. The state says additional sampling will be done to determine if a nearby pond is impacting the water system.

We spoke to several families living in the park and they say they're not only worried for their health, but say they don't understand why it has taken the owners so long to rectify the problem.

"It's been kind of crazy. I keep going out for water all the time. You can't shower here, yu can't do dishes here, you can't even wash your hands" said Lee Fingar, a White Pines South resident.

NewsChannel13 reached out to the property owners, Teton Management, they say they are working with NYSDOH and expect updated tests to come back clear on Monday. NYSDOH says the boil water order remains in effect on Saturday evening.
