Convicted killer Johnny Oquendo will represent himself when he's sentenced next Monday in Rensselaer County Court.

Judge Andrew Ceresia allowed Oquendo's request on Thursday, but not before reminding him that if his self-defense suffers because of his ignorance of the law, he'll have to live with the consequences.

Oquendo was convicted last November of murdering his stepdaughter Noel Aklaramla, stuffing her body in a suitcase and tossing it into the Hudson River.
