Corinth house fire displaces two

The Corinth Volunteer Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 320 Center Street to find the rear of the building in flames.

The call came in around 9:10 p.m. and the fire was put out within 20 minutes.

Mutual aid from neighboring fire departments helped to quickly extinguish the fire.

Fire Chief Andy Kelley tells us the possible cause could be from a plumber who was performing soldering repairs in the area of the fire or it was the three heating lamps used in the basement to keep the pipes from freezing.

The American Red Cross is assisting two people who resided in the home.

The Chief also told us three cats have been rescued with one being placed on oxygen. After being revived the cat was taken to the veterinarian for further treatment.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
