Positivity rate drops in 518 as work continues to tackle downstate coronavirus clusters

New York state continues work to tackle coronavirus clusters downstate.

Gov. Cuomo said Friday the state’s positivity rate is 1.25% if you count the "red zones" downstate, and 1.14% without them.


The positivity rate in the "hot spot" areas is 4.84%.

There are 918 people hospitalized with the virus statewide, 21 more than the previous day.

In the Capital Region, the positivity rate dropped from 0.8% on Wednesday to 0.7% on Thursday.

In the Mohawk Valley, the positivity rate dropped from 0.5% on Wednesday to 0.3% on Thursday.

Unfortunately, another 10 people died statewide, including a person from Columbia County.
