March 24, 2019 11:55 AM

MENANDS- The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is issuing a plea: don't leave animals abandoned outside of the shelter!

The shelter released a video showing a couple dropping of a carrier with two adult cats and four kittens around 6:00 Sunday morning.

Staff did not find them until two hours later. The weather was frigid and life-threatening to such young kittens.

The shelter says there have been predatory animals such as coyotes spotted on the property.

They also say since January, 11 cats have been abandoned at the door during closing hours.

The Humane Society urges the public to be responsible and work with them when the need arises to give up an animal. They are there to help, but need the public to also respect and abide by their policies.
