Operation "Hardhat" ends with more than 1,000 tickets issued by New York State Police.

This initiative is all part of a joint effort with the Department of Transportation and targeted reckless drivers in work zones.

Serving as a reminder for us all to make sure those working in construction zones, maintenance, and emergency operations make it home safely to their families every night.

Some of the tickets included 493 for speeding, 92 for cell phone use and 72 violations of New York's "Move Over Law."
