Victims identified in Washington County crash that killed woman

EASTON - Investigators are trying to figure what caused a crash on Route 40 in Easton Monday afternoon.

Police say a four-door Subaru collided head-on with a van, not far from Hegeman Bridge Road shortly before 1 p.m.

They say 75-year-old Caroline Doyle was driving the Subaru Outback on Route 40 when she went over the center line, hitting a Dodge utility van driven by 37-year-old Marc Alpy.

Doyle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alpy was taken to Albany Medical Center by helicopter with serious injuries.

New York State Police say the investigation is ongoing.
