Crossgates Mall will get some extra police protection.

Guilderland police say the mall will reimburse the town for the cost of two officers. This means police can patrol the mall without taking away officers from other parts of town.

The agreement began on February 1. One officer has already been hired.

Several fights have happened at the mall in recent months, including one where someone was stabbed in the arm.
