Gov. Cuomo says the coronavirus infection rate is coming down after spiking right after the holidays. However, he's now worried about another wave after new variants are starting to spread.

Cuomo is looking at strains first found in the UK, and now South Africa and Brazil.

The daily infection rate in New York state was 6.5% percent on Sunday.

Around 8,900 people are hospitalized.

Sadly, another 153 people died.

Gov. Cuomo wrote a letter to Health & Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, telling him the distribution of vaccine has been mismanaged and the American people deserve an explanation.

He also talked about re-allocating vaccines throughout the state. Simply put, hospitals that have been able to quickly administer their allocated doses will get more.
