In his executive budget released on Tuesday, Governor Cuomo said he intends to make changes in the limousine industry.
Among the proposals, an outright ban on the registration of re-manufactured limousines, like the one involved in the Schoharie crash.
He also wants to make it a felony for any owner/operator to tamper with a motor vehicle tag or inspection sticker.
The governor is also calling for new criminal penalties for DMV regulated inspection stations that illegally hand out inspection stickers.
All drivers operating limousines would be required to hold a commercial license.
