'Baseball Bat Bandit' from Troy gets 14 years behind bars

Darren French from Troy is known as the "Baseball Bat Bandit."

He was sentenced to 14 years in jail.


French pled guilty earlier this month to three counts of robbery and two counts of attempted robbery.

Back in July, NewsChannel 13 showed you surveillance video from the Congress Street Market, where French fought with a store clerk who was also armed with a bat.

This was one of five hold-ups at convenience stores in the city in two days.
