There's a new phone scam hitting people in Berkshire County.

Deputies say people are being contacted by a Captain Paul Jones and Captain Brandon Mitchell of the Civil Office at the Berkshire County Sheriff's Office. They are being told that there is a warrant for their arrest.

They are asked to call back, at a number that doesn't belong to the sheriff's department.

Deputies say to hang up immediately and remind you that they do not call you if there is a warrant for your arrest.
