Hudson Falls man accused of starting fatal fire due in court

The Hudson Falls man accused of starting a fire that killed his girlfriend is expected in court Friday.

Derrick Guilder, 22, is being arraigned on a murder charge. Police say Gilder set fire to the home he shared with his girlfriend, 18-year-old Ashley Coltrain.

Investigators believe Coltrain was breaking up with Guilder. Investigators also say Guilder was planning on killing himself as well but changed his mind after setting the fire.
