New York state residents urged to prepare for future disasters

September is "Disaster Preparedness Month."

New York State Homeland Security is taking the opportunity to encourage New Yorkers to strengthen emergency planning efforts.

It's not just emergencies you see on TV - like the hurricanes. However, you should be prepared to withstand disaster, whether they be natural or manmade.
